Yuletide 2020 Letter

Dear Kind Yuletide Writer,

Hi! Seasons greetings to you and thanks so much for signing up! I’ve been wanting to do Yuletide for a while now, and I’m excited for everything this event offers! I’ve listed some general likes and do not wants with some fandom specifics at the bottom. Generally speaking though, apart from the DNWs, feel free to run wherever your creativity takes you! Prompts are just there in case you want to get started with something, but I’m not that picky on you sticking to it if the general feel of the fic vibes with my general likes!

Also, thought it would be a good idea to say upfront that I am always delighted by late treats for any of my requested fandoms (no matter how late)!

AO3: silverinerivers

Likes: I usually prefer canon-related settings. Missing scenes are some of my favourite things because I get to see how other authors interpret the scenes in canon we may not have been privy to. However, don’t take that to mean that I don’t like AUs b/c they hold their own charm! Introspection and pining are some of my favourite fic tags. I really like it when you’re able to really get into someone’s head and how they tend to think, especially when it is emotion related. I am happy with most genres - fluff, humour, angst, hurt/comfort, but if you go the angst route, I’d really like a happy if not at least hopeful ending. Found family and friendships make my heart soft. I also have a weak spot for smut with feelings with a side of sad, somehow that kind of hurt is something I really vibe with, but again...hopeful endings make my heart happy. It is the holidays after all!

DNWs: graphic violence/gore, excessive crack, pregnancy, kid-fics, OCs (unless fairly minor role), major character death, genderbends, infidelity, first or second POV, crossovers.

All ratings are good by me, though some of the fandom requests below don't necessarily lend themselves well for more explicit works (e.g. A Place Further than the Universe).

Fandoms

No. 6 (Anime/Manga)

Characters: Nezumi, Shion

I’d love to see some form of feelings realization from either of their perspectives in canon, whether that’s an exact specific moment of your choosing or slowly over time. It’d be interesting to see their character dynamics change especially with Nezumi’s conflicting emotions over how he thinks Shion still views No. 6 early on. Another prompt could be how Nezumi and Shion’s relationship is seen through an outsider POV of your choice! You can also choose to go the smut route with them, where I'd love to just see their physical intimacy with a healthy side of Nezumi teasing Shion with all the sexual inexperience jokes he’s made. Add as much sad horny & feelings to this as you’d like; canon-verse for this makes a lot of sense to me and could be quite touching and bittersweet.

The Good Place (TV)

Characters: Any.

I LOVE the Good Place Universe a lot, so up to you who you want to focus on! Some potential ideas: any of the early S2 reboots and fleshed out one of them through the beginning to the end where they realized they were actually in the Bad Place. Any of the snapshots we saw in the season opener or even just one you want to make up and run with would be cool by me, lots of potential there! A character study on anyone would also be intriguing to read, especially over the course of the seasons (e.g. like a 5+1 or something similar). I think especially with how the show tries to show that everyone is capable of change and becoming better, while keeping some fundamental parts about each person which stays the same (e.g. Chidi always offers to help), exploring character growth and development would make a lovely fic! You can go gen or romantic, I don’t mind either! 

宇宙よりも遠い場所 | Sora Yori mo Tooi Basho | A Place Further Than the Universe (Anime)

Characters: Kobuchizawa Shirase, Miyake Hinata.

A look at Shirase and Hinata’s friendship during the course of the anime would be neat to look at, especially given how different they are and how they deal with stress and holding things back. They had some good moments in the anime re: the passport and Hinata’s old classmates, so maybe it would be sweet to explore a missing scene or extending that relationship in this fic! You can also go the humour route, just the four girls having fun and struggling on the expedition, making fun of each other and making memories together - the more wholesome the better!

銀の匙 | Silver Spoon 

Characters: Hachiken Yuugo.

I’m honestly not picky at all with this one. Any kind of little scenario during their school days (or peripherally, e.g. Hachiken’s summer gig) could fit right in. I’d lean towards more wholesome vibes with this fic, but also them having to come face to face with real life/reality of growing up would also work. Introspection and character studies/growth would probably work well, or humour if that’s your preference! Honestly this series is very slice of life, so something along the lines would fit right in - or you can go AU with this too! Platonic focus probably given the cast, but I don’t mind a bit of romance thrown in there too!
